While I was back home in Wanganui recently, I stopped into Body and Beauty Connection to chat to owner Raye McDonnell about Cavi Non-Surgical Lipo, and to try out the treatment for myself to see if it lived up to its claims.
What is Cavi-Lipo and how does it work?
Cavi-Lipo is a body shaping method used to acquire a better silhouette. It uses ultrasound to target and implode the subcutaneous fat cells (the fat cells directly under the skin) which are then metabolised in the body the same way a fatty meal is. When used in conjunction with a healthy diet & regular exercise, fantastic results can and are made. This is a gradual process which is why a number of treatments are required to get optimal results (think of peeling an onion layer by layer). Unlike fat wrapping, the cms lost are permanent. However, if you are eating rubbish and not exercising, you will grow more new fat.
Who would you recommend this treatment to?
It is best used for average to overweight men and women who are wanting to acquire a better silhouette.
How many sessions do you need?
You can have as few or as many sessions as you want, and most clients sign up for 4-12 sessions depending on the amount of fat they have.
Are there differences in effectiveness with different machines?
Cavifast2 Non Surgical Lipo is the system we use. There are other types of Cavi treatments however ours is FDA approved & medical grade so the top of the line of its type. It has undergone rigorous clinic trials.
How much does a typical session cost?
Cavifast2 Lipo Bodyshaping costs $90 per session for the first 4 sessions then reduces to $80 per session. (Each session lasts up to 60 mins including pre and post measurements). We also have payment plans available.
Now to my experience! I chose to have my abdomen as my target area. It was completely pain free and comfortable. The only thing that's a bit weird is the noise of the ultrasound waves bouncing off your skeleton, which is like a high pitch whirring sound, but you forget about it pretty quickly. Results are instant and one area of my stomach was 5cm smaller straight after the treatment!
It has been one month since I had it done and the results have lasted! My measurements have stayed the same as post treatment. Some people even find that they keep losing centimetres because it continues to work over the next few days following the treatment.
I'm giving this treatment a 5/5 and would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to shape up, it's a great compliment to eating healthy and working out!
